The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing proposals, qualifications packages and presentations for prospective clients that relate our abilities and according to Merit’s standards.
  • Organizing and managing the proposal process to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Manage and upkeep of Merit’s website and social media pages.
  • Production of internal communication materials.
  • Participate in local and regional marketing and public relations efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients/team members to stay apprised of opportunities.

We are looking for a flexible team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines.

The preferred candidate will possess:

  • 2-5 years experience; with demonstrated understanding and relationships in the A/E/C industry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop), Publisher, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in the industrial, religious, financial, medical/dental and office/retail markets. Internal advancement opportunities available for the right individual.


  • Manage projects and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and co-workers.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules and budgets, responsible for overall project delivery.
  • Participate in the design development process to collaborate and value engineer construction methods to reduce time and cost.
  • Manage change order negotiations and contract compliance.
  • Manage and adhere to AIA contract documentation process.
  • Establish effective relationships along with an understanding of municipalities and permit processes.
  • Lead job site meetings, produce minutes and strive for a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure contractor compliance of life safety/OSHA requirements are met on all job sites to minimize risk.

Basic Qualifications

  • Successful candidate will have built buildings and come up through the construction industry
  • BA/BS degree from accredited university preferably in Construction Management
  • Sage 300/Timberline software experience
  • Experience in negotiating commercial contracts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction project management of commercial buildings, demonstrating progressive responsibility and growth within the construction/facilities industry
  • Strong knowledge of Building Code and Safety Regulations
  • Experience building and managing budgets that are several million dollars
  • Proficient in MS Excel, and MS Project
  • Ability to lead negotiations, and manage high level meetings and discussions
  • Strong organizational skills

We are seeking a Superintendent with experience in the industrial, religious, financial, medical/dental and office/retail markets. Internal advancement opportunities available for the right individual.


  • Schedule, coordinate and manage the daily construction activities for new commercial and remodeling projects
  • Ensure that projects are built to requirements and specifications established by construction drawings, building codes and clients
  • Develop and maintain schedules, critical paths for projects, and trade contractor schedules to ensure timely project completion
  • Monitor project quality and cost control to safeguard profit margin
  • Design and implement checklists for inspections, quality control, and standard operating procedures
  • Inspect project site daily
  • Assume overall responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe project site
  • Schedule municipal inspections
  • Compile daily Field Reports
  • Keep Project Manager informed of project progress
  • Communicate with customers on jobsites; answer their questions and ensure that construction meets their expectations
  • Order materials and supplies; schedule deliveries
  • Notify trade contractors and material suppliers in advance to assure materials are delivered and trade contractors arrive on schedule
  • Receive, inspect and verify all deliveries
  • Guide and direct field employees, trade contractors and suppliers
  • Explain and ensure compliance of safety program to all site personnel
  • Explain quality control standards and supervise their implementation
  • Ensure projects are built to quality standards
  • Strive for no-defect construction
  • Consult with project manager, architect, engineer, trade contractor and clients on plan revisions and change orders
  • Conduct pre-closing walk-throughs with customers and customer service/warranty coordinator. Coordinate punch list work.
  • Develop and maintain strong, productive supplier and trade contractor relationships
  • Communicate company’s safety, quality and performance standards to each trade contractor and supplier
  • Conduct periodic work inspections to ensure that those standards are met


  • 5 years Superintendent experience required
