Len Zarelli

Len brings more than 30 years’ experience in all aspects of the business including project management, estimating, contract negotiation, administration and public relations. Len’s hands-on experience and knowledge of value engineering and team-build, combined with his business acumen, have enabled Merit Construction Northwest to consistently exceed our customers’ expectations.

Carl Zarelli

Carl’s 40 years of experience include, but are not limited to, quality control of the design proposal (acting as design liaison for the owner), confirmation of design compatibility, and strategic direction and execution of construction services. Additionally, his role has included the pre-construction lead responsible for reviewing all contract documents, and evaluating project risk for the owner.

Scott Seelye

With more than 30 years of construction experience, Scott brings a diverse background to Merit Construction. His experience includes but is not limited to estimating, project management, safety director, vice president and partial ownership of a local general construction firm. His project experience includes credit unions, auto dealerships, dental offices, food processing plants, pre-engineered metal buildings, health care facilities and office buildings.  His work ethic, commitment and dedication to being a successful team player are second to none.

Chris Cody

Chris brings more than 15 years’ experience in administrative support in the construction field. As project and safety coordinator, her skills include initial project preparation, safety postings required by L&I and complete manuals for project managers and superintendents. She maintains Merit’s safety standards by providing one-on-one safety training with all new employees. Chris visits each jobsite within the first week of mobilization to ensure all safety requirements have been met and conducts regular jobsite safety audits. As a member of both the AGC safety team and MCNW’s safety committee, Chris regularly attends forum meetings and conducts quarterly meetings on behalf of continual safety education, awareness and accident prevention.

Darin Hall

Darin is an accomplished superintendent with more than 20 years of diversified experience in all phases of commercial and industrial construction including 12 years as project superintendent. His skills include pre-engineered metal building erection, cast-in-place and precast tilt-up concrete, wood framing, metal stud framing and site work. He has experience working on a variety of projects including commercial warehouses, auto dealerships, industrial, institutional and tenant improvements. With a hands-on mentality, Darin jumps right into projects and exemplifies his experience with building and site layout, plan and specification reading, safety awareness, project planning and management, scheduling and much more.

Jason Fridlund

Jason is a skilled superintendent with more than 20 years of construction experience. His responsibilities on the job include reviewing project plans, working closely with the management team to monitor budget and develop schedules, selecting crews and overseeing subcontractors. His experience also includes negotiating with vendors and purchasing equipment, cooperating with regulatory agencies to assure compliance, providing ongoing status reports and communication, monitoring all work for quality and adherence to contract specifications and facilitating regular production and safety meetings.

Keith Dunbar

With more than 35 years of industry experience, Keith works closely with management to develop schedules, monitor budget, select crews and oversee subcontractors. Keith’s knowledge of equipment, tools, materials and supplies (with working knowledge in complying with regulatory agencies) ensures a well-run project. By holding safety meetings, adhering to contract specifications and monitoring all workmanship, Keith helps confirm a project is completed on time and within budget.

Danielle has nearly 4 years as a construction accounting specialist. Danielle’s considerable knowledge in accounting principles and functions helps our operations run smoothly. She consistently maintains great working relationships with our subcontractors and brings invaluable qualities to her role.

Matthew Struthers

Serving the construction industry for nearly 20 years, Matthew has extensive experience within the industry. Matthew’s roles within the industry have included foreman, staff geologist, superintendent, quality control manager and project manager. The varied roles have allowed him to thoroughly understand every phase of the construction project; ensuring our clients a quality product. As a manager, he believes that having good production should never come at the cost of quality or safety.

The newest member of our team, Joe brings a fresh perspective to our Marketing Department. While relationship management is at the forefront of his duties, his role also includes developing and maintaining marketing materials, community outreach and proposal development. His enthusiasm and candor are evident in the way he approaches every project and reflect Merit’s longstanding commitment to excellent service for our clients.

Brett Johnson

Brett is a “boots-on-the-ground” kind of guy. His 32 years in the construction industry provide the client with valuable experience in all manner of trades– electrical, plumbing, concrete, siding, and the list goes on. He possesses an excellent knowledge of code requirements and keeps a keen eye on the overall process of every project he oversees. Working as a point of contact between the various subcontractors on each job, the Owner and design team, Brett’s sense of humor keeps morale high and strengthens Merit’s relationships.

Dylon Birklid

Dylon has been with Merit for six years and is currently the Foreman for our small works division.  His role requires good communication with his PM, the project owner, his subcontractors as well as any inspecting agencies.  He maintains the schedule and ensures that the job runs smoothly.  Having come up through the ranks as an apprentice and then a carpenter here, he has learned and maintains the high standards we have for safety and quality.
