Merit Completes Construction on Sutter Metals Building
TACOMA, WA — Sutter Metals opens its doors to the public serving customers in Pierce and King Counties. Built by Merit Construction, the new Butler Manufactured pre-engineered metal building provides specialized recycling services, collecting and processing both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Sutter Metals, AustinCina Architects, and Merit Construction partnered on a team build project to construct a 29,600 SF Butler Manufactured pre-engineered metal building in Tacoma, WA. The scope of work involved extensive sitework including grading and demolition of existing concrete, stormwater systems, excavation and backfills, new concrete work pads, approaches, and sidewalks. The new building consists of warehouse space on the main floor and a two-story wood-framed office with restrooms and a break room on the second floor. In addition, Merit was able to team up with subcontractors and implement the design-build process to develop a cost-effective solution for the fire sprinkler, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and fire alarm system for this project.
“Thank you for working alongside us in this marathon project. You and your team are elevating us in so many ways and we cannot express enough gratitude.” — Janice Sutter, Owner, Sutter Metals
