Team-Build
When looking to construct, renovate or expand a building, one of the first questions to address should be which project process to utilize. Consideration of potential design, estimation of costs, opportunities for cost savings (value engineering), along with realistic project and permitting timelines are vital to meeting budget requirements, project expectations and providing a successful experience. The two processes to take into consideration are Team-Build, (similar to Design Build) and Design-Bid-Build.
Since opening in 1957, Merit has prioritized working as a team. We have always felt that the better relationship we have with the design team, the better product we are able to deliver to our client. Our Team-Build process was implemented because we knew that if we could get involved at the earliest point, and work alongside architects, our Owners would be far better served. When we start the project as a team, we can understand the goals and budget of a build and do what is most efficient from the onset. We can manage the entire design and construction process for you through site selection and acquisition to final completion. Because we are extensively networked in the design and engineering community, we can choose the right professionals to help you achieve your goals.

Build What Matters Campaign
In our 60+ years of business, we have found that while the nature of our work is constructing buildings, these establishments build relationships and experiences. The bonds individuals create as they interact within and around these buildings are the foundation for a community. The same can be said for the Tacoma Dome — a building that has brought people together and inspired hope and unity throughout the South Sound since its inception.
When we built the Tacoma Dome in 1983, creating a place that fostered community was at the forefront of our minds, and this still stands true for us today; our desire to inspire hope and unity within our communities matters now more than ever. To capture this message, we launched our "Build What Matters" campaign. Find out more about the campaign, what we did with local businesses, and how together we found ways to lift up and inspire our community.
