First Christian Reformed Church
First Christian Reformed Church's renovation and addition was built with a sense of community in mind. Generated by the client's need for a larger narthex, the addition was devised as a pleasant and welcoming entrance for the congregation. The narthex was designed to feature long, thin geometry, perpendicular to the sanctuary with the western side open to a steel and wood canopy and landscaped plinth. The fundamental design was created to make an extended space for gathering between the parking area and the existing sanctuary and new church offices.
